There’s a service on the web you may or may not know about called twitter. Twitter is a web site for “microblogging”. Basically you can post little snippets up to 140 characters at a time. Coincidentally 140 characters is the same size as a cell phone text message. It’s place where you can post your current status and what you’re doing right now, and it’s a web site that goes hand in hand with cell phones. Twitter is unique because you can not only post your own status, but you can choose to “follow” that status of other people. Friends, family, co-workers, web sites - you can follow anyone with a twitter account.

You can receive “twitter updates” of who you’re following by going to your twitter.com home page, or by going to “settings->devices” you can receive updates via cell phone text message. You can choose “per person” you follow whether you can’t to get “updates” via cell phone or not. So, you could follow 100 people, but only get cell phone updates from 10 if you want.
