having 30 minutes to perform with a 10 minute set up time.

As the T-Town Sound web sites evolves, new pages and features are added all the time. Today, I had an inquiry about how to find pages for a particular band - and it was apparent that a few features were missing. Now, in the right sidebar(s) you will find a search box on the top of every page. You can search entire web site (except for tickets and eBay) from that box. Search for tickets here, and search for music instruments in and around Toledo here.

That reminds me, the Toledo eBay section of the web site is now BRAND NEW! You can find all the musical instruments and gear listed within a 50 mile radius of Toledo in this section of the site. You can get great deal on gear on eBay, I’ve bought quite a bit myself. I received a new guitar last week, and I have PA gear arriving this week. When you specifically find items on eBay locally in Toledo, you can usually arrange to pick it up and save a bunch on shipping (music gear is HEAVY!). Anyway, check it out.

You’ll also find that there is a new “archives” dropdown, where you can see what is posted here on T-Town Sound by month. Maybe you have a suggestion to improve T-Town Sound - use our contact form and let us know!

As I announced on the home page last weekend, last Friday night at 930pm Toledo Guitarist Mark Lein passed away - he was 49 years old. If you have comments you would like to add about his music - or if you played with him in a band in and around Toledo, Ohio - please post them here in our forum.

Toledo City Paper is promoting the Rock on Adams event tonight where you pay one cover charge at any of the 5 bars participating ($10) and you get a wristband. Then you can “Pub Crawl” all 5 bars all night long. Each bar has 3 bands throughout the night.

There’s an incredible array of bands and music to see, from indie, folk, techno, DJ, (drag show), blues, cover bands, and more! You can’t get much more live music in Toledo for only $10!! Here’s a list of the band performing tonight -

As I mentioned the other day, Enhanced Listings for Toledo area bands are now FREE!  I just don’t see any point in charging band members and musicians for a service they deserve to get for free.  Many people think that when you’re in band you’re lucky to get paid (something) for doing what you love.  That’s great, but no matter how popular your band is - you’re still not going to make enough to cover gas, travel time, practice time with the band, practice time at home, supplies, instruments, and time spent away from your family.  We work hard to entertain people on stage and give them a good time - getting paid is just a bonus.  We can make enough with advertising where I don’t think we’ll ever have to charge bands or musicians a dime.

On the enhanced listings page I also mentioned that our sister web site Toledo-Bands.com is now offering bands web sites for FREE!! That’s right - if your one of the bands with just a MySpace, you can setup and manage an entire band web site for free on Toledo-Bands.com.  Just use this form to signup.  Just be aware, the “username” you use should be your band name, because that will turn into your URL.  In other words, if you sign up with the username “my-band-rocks”, then your web site URL will be my-band-rocks.toledo-bands.com!  Once you get your web site finished and ready to rock and roll, use our Contact Form to let us know and we’ll announce you on the home page!  Even if you already have your own band web site AND MySpace - why not set one up on Toledo-Bands.com too?  It’s just more exposure for you band!

Boogie Stu is a new band to this area from Bowling Green playing classic rock covers at Michigan Tavern in Temperance, MI at 10pm.

Gypsy Wind is playing classic rock covers at the Longhorn Saloon at 10pm.

The Bier Stube has Karaoke.
